He received the BSc degree from Harbin Engineering University, China, in 1984, and the MSc degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, China, 1987. He is currently an associate professor of The State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and Systems, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University. He is a Council Member of Electric Vehicle Technical Committee of China Standard Administer Committee. His research interests include Embedded Computer Systems , Electric Vehicle, Automotive electronics and the Application Technology of Intelligent Control.
He has been in charge of, or participating in as a principal member, over 10 projects, including National 863 High-Tech Programs, the Eighth Five-Year Plan, the Ninth Five-Year Plan, Tsinghua University 985 Projects, international cooperation, etc. He participated in researching and developing two intelligent battery management systems, BMS-I and BMS-II. He was also in charge of a international cooperation project with General Motor of American, A Battery State Of Charge (SOC) And Power Capability Indicating System, in 1999. He is the author or co-author of more than 20 papers published in journals and international conferences. He, as a co-author, has published a book “Practical Interface Technology for MCS-51 Family Micro-controller”, which as a science & technology monograph won the third award of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Prize in 1999.
Since 2001, he has been devoting himself to intelligent control of electric vehicle , finished several projects for the 863 High-Tech Program and accomplished many achievements. He was in charge of " Powertrain control system for fuel cell bus (2001AA501111)" in 2002 and " Powertrain control software and hardware platform for fuel cell bus (2003AA501111 )" from Jan.2003 to Oct.2004. The research team under his direction has applied for 4 patent for invention and 1 patent for utility model, with 1 patent for utility model and 1 patent for invention granted, respectively. Besides, the team has registered 1 copy of software and set up 2 specifications.
