Professor
Dai Mei E was born in Feb 1946 in Shanghai. In 1964, she entered Automation
Control Dept (now known as Computer Science Dept) of Tsinghua University from
Shanghai High School. Prof. Dai received
her bachelor degree in 1970, and her master degree in 1981. She was one of the
first group of masters in China.
After
got master degree, Prof. Dai's research focuses on Microcomputer technology and
network technology. She was a key researcher in the first network project "OMNINET"
in China. This project was funded by National "6.5"
emphasis item , and won the
first grade prize from Electronic Dept, and third grade prize of National
Science and Technology Achievement Award.
As
a chief member or project owner, Prof Dai accomplished
"7.5", "8.5", and "9.5" National emphasis
Research Projects, and "863" Projects. Because These projects were
accomplished very good, She was awarded the fist grade prize of Beijing Advanced
Technology Awards, the first and second grade prize from National Information
Technology Dept, the second grade prize from National Education Dept, and
outstanding paper prize from the National Electronic Dept. Prof Dai is also the
first author to over 50 scientific papers.
Besides her researcher achievements, Prof Dai also have got large amount of effort in teaching and education. She is the only author or the first author of 10 professional textbooks in computer science area. Among them, the book "the Technologies and Applications of Microcomputer" first edition won the first grade prize of the Third National Best Textbooks Awards; its second edition won the first grade prize of Beijing Educational Awards and the second grade prize of National Educational Awards, and is published and issued in Taiwan, Hongkong, and Singapore; its third edition won the gold cup winner. This book is now used by over 400 universities and colleges national wide.
