System-level and High-level design techniques and tools in Electronic design automation, including System-on-chip oriented hardware/software co-design and co-verification, architecture synthesis, interface synthesis and layout-merged high-level and logic-level synthesis.
Since graduate from Department of Automatic Control (former of Department of Computer Science and Technology) of Tsinghua University, he has been a teacher of the department dealing with teaching and research. From Jun. 1985 to Jun. 1986, he was a visiting scholar of Kyoto University, Japan. The later of 1980’s and 1990’s, He joined some National Key Projects, including the project PANDA system, in which he charged the logic- and switch-level simulation tool. That system got the national science and technology award (the first class) and several ministry awards, and he got 2 honor certificates from Electronic Ministry. Since 2000, he has focused his research on SOC oriented design methodology and system- and high-level synthesis and verification. The completed and ongoing projects include the one supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) and so on.
The major ongoing projects:
1. Multi-target and granulality self-adaptive SOC system partitioning and interface synthesis (NSFC);
2. Research on the key technology of SOC design and implement of a voice-conduction SOC system (NSFC, a part);
3. Research on SOC oriented design techniques combining High-level synthesis with floorplaning (NSFC, a part)
4. High efficient design, verification and test of Processor Chips (973 Program)
